Classes
Workshops and classes are offered in my studio and are taught by different instructors. In my studio, you will find drawing casts, pigments, canvas rolls, and of course easels and benches.
I offer multiple lights with different temperatures and colors.
Portrait Painting with Mike Garcia
In Person & Online Saturdays 12/06/2025 - 12/20/2025
In this three-session class, students will complete a portrait painting in oils under the guidance of instructor Mike Garcia. On the first day students will work on the underpainting, focusing on composition, measurement, values, and basic facial proportions.
On the second day, students will work on the color block-in, exploring value and color theory to establish a believable light impression.
On the final day, students will model forms and refine their work, securing the likeness and conveying a sense of luminance and depth. Students will work alongside the instructor, painting the same pose from the live model each session and receiving personalized instruction throughout the course.
Easels and taborets will be provided but bring your own easel/setup if preferred.
